Is there some way of making an appointment in the calendar e.g. coffee with joe at 2 pm ... and then having a sound alarm or alert go off when that time comes. I can't find it in the manual, or on the Blackberry itself.

these should be under the profile section.

Look in the Calendar. Set the appointment. Set the Reminder time.

Go to Profiles, edit your active Profile and edit the calendar alert both IN and OUT of holster. Set the alert tune and loudness you desires, etc.
