Default All Emails and Phone Logs Deleted

Please Login to Remove!

Yesterday, my 8300 deleted all emails prior to August 16, and all phone logs. From reading other posts, I assume this has something to do with memory, and it needed to clear it up.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
Can applications be moved to the MicroSD card?
How can the MicroSD card be utilized to prevent this?

I really need to prevent this from happening again.

Thanks.

You probably have the BB set to delete mail after 30 days. That said, I think 30 days is the max unless you specifically save the msgs you want to save; those it won't delete.

Reboot more frequently. The 8300 doesn't like doing the random reboots that the 8700's (for instnace) did. So memory doesn't free up and it starts deleting messages and logs. Turning off doesn't do it. Either pull the battery or grab one of the soft reset apps in the 3rd party software forum. It's annoying and sucks. At least with the 8700 the reboot was almost always when holstered or I wasn't doing anything.

You aren't alone, its happening to everyone.

Start with this:

Menu>Options>Status If your free memory is less that 16mg this is most likely the problem.

First you need to make sure that you are not leaving programs running in the background. ALT+Esc will show what is running. If there are more than five you have programs in the background chewing up the memory. To avoid this always use MENU>end (or close) to end a program DO NOT use the red end key as this will just move it to the background and leave it running.

Do a hard-reset and check your free memory using the first sequence. If more
memory is needed then follow instructions in the link below:

Good Luck!

Which soft reset program works with the 8300? The only one I can find is for the Pearl. Will that work?
Thanks.

alt+cap+del twice should reboot the qwerty devices. No need for SoftReset on those devices.
