I have noticed that on my CURVE that my NORMAL PROFILE SMS messages notification sound from the normal profile still functions even though I might be in the quiet or vibrate profile.

Anyone else have this happen and know how to fix it?

You have to update it for quiet or normal also, meaning going into profiles and sms for those 2 settings.

OK - perhaps I was not clear. I Have a specific tone for SMS messages set up in the Normal Profile. IN the vibrate and quiret profile there are different settings set up.

I have noticed that even though I may be in the quiet profile, or in the vibrate profile, that SMS messages still chime using the setting from the normal profile.

Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

Yes and it is. I am wondering if its because I have forced the theme I am using to have a separate SMS MEssages Folder...

Do you have any exceptions listed under your profiles? They'd be under "Use Active Profile Except For." Maybe there's a conflict that's overriding your Quiet and Vibrate profiles. Just a thought.

I always have my SMS and Email separate (if that's what you are referring to) and don't have this "problem."

I DO have execptions and I have doule checked them tonight and I don't have any that this sender would key off of that I can tell but thanks for the idea and the fact that your curve is not doing this.

I guess you could temporarily deactivate all of your exceptions and see if that has any effect on the problem. If not, you're no worse off. If so, it's a place to start hunting. Someone, in another thread, reported that one exception caused her husband's "custom sms setting" to be used for all profiles.

Finally made the time to troubleshoot and this was the exact issue - one execption was the culprint. Deleted it and then recreated and the BB is signalling like i want it too.
