Default Wobbly trackball?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I bought a 8300 Curve yesturday and have today began playing with it. One thing i am worried about is the trackball. When I use it it wobbles and moves alot. Is this normal or should i take it back?

EDIT - It also makes a horrible rattling sound when i use it.

I guess that depends on how much wobble you are talking about. When they first came out, the balls were stiff and caused problems. The next batch were looser, hopfully that is what you mean by wobble. As far as the sound, all the curves i have seen sound similar to the ipods click wheel. If that is the sound you are referring too, dont worry about it

Ok fair enough just checking. Is the white circle the trackball sits in supposed to move too?

No, only the ball itself should move. If the rest of it moves, I'd return it. Something is missing or broken.

The first Curve I had was like that, it made noises no matter what and seemed very loose. I got a replacement and the difference is night and day between the two, this one is great. I'd exchange yours if possible.
