Default O2-UK Users on EDGE?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I have a BB8300 Curve on the O2 network here in the UK. Since yesterday I have noticed instead of GPRS, it state EDGE when I am near my office in Amersham, Bucks. O2 are not sure why, so have any other users experienced the same? If so where are you and if anyone can shed more light on O2 and EDGE (expcept for the fact i-Mode uses EDGE) please let me know.

Cheers

EDGE is an upgraded version of GPRS (so to speak.) It's faster download. My guess would be they are slowly upgrading towers.

Are you sure you're not roaming on Orange?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.02; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320) BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/125)

No, which is why I find it so strange. I think they must be test launching an EDGE network as it seems to only be at my office where it works.
