Default AOL Instant Messenger for 8830?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I just got my BlackBerry 8830 yesterday and was wondering if they are going to come out with a download for AOL instant messenger. I have Verizon. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.

I recommend using JiveTalk. It works with all major IM accounts (not just AOL) and works quite nicely on the Blackberry. Well worth the one time $20-$30.

I use JiveTalk all day all the time - it works great for me, though some feel that it is a battery drain - any IM would probably be a battery drain.

If you want to chat with me more about it, IM me on my BB at bryanhooper (AIM).

Thumbs up

I also use JiveTalk. I LOVE IT. I've used almost every major client (Even the bberry published ones), and this program is FAR superior.

How do you get a sound or vibration, when someone IM's you or vise versa? thanks

Jive Talk is the best, now i could have unlimited text to cell phones.

Go out of JiveTalk and go to the home screen. Click on "Profiles." It looks like a small speaker icon (depending on the theme in use.) Then go to Advanced. Then highlight the profile you're using, i.e. vibrate, loud, etc. (one will say "active" next to it-that's the one you're using) and hit the menu key and select edit. Then edit your settings for JiveTalk.
