Default a few annoying things about the curve...any solutions?

Please Login to Remove!

1) The "taskbar" function (alt-back button) is too crowded...how can i get rid of some of them? in the 8700 it only showed you open applications...this seems to always want to show you PTT, media, and messenger no matter what. very annoying.

2) when scrolling through the home screen why won't it move to the next line when you get to the end of a row?

3) why does it sometimes take a long time to process a picture and other times it is ready to take another picture immediately? it's not due to the flash.

that's all i got for now...obviously none of these things are that big of a deal but it would be nice if there was a solution.

i've been a bb owner since the pagers and i absolutely love this thing!

1- it only show those running. Those are running.

2- True. that is annoying to me at times.

3- Because this is a BlackBerry, not a PC with a 2gigablips processor. Writing to disk a 1.3 or 2.0 megapixal picture can take a few seconds.

Hey, welcome to the Forums, enjoy your time here.!

thanks for your reply and the welcome.

I guess what i'm asking in #1 then is why can't i close apps like PTT and messenger? it's like those are permenent fixtures in that menu which is annoying since i don't use them.

also, regarding #3, i'm well aware that it takes time to process the pics but my question is really why does there seem to be a HUGE variation in the time it takes to process them? sometimes it takes a second and it's ready to take another pic. other times it takes 20-40 seconds.

#1... If you don't use PTT you can remove it.. There is a thread somewhere around here or on another forum that I'll dig up. It is recommended to do so with a backup/restore or while upgrading the os. I haven't done it yet but I plan on doing it soon.

Info for removing PTT is within the first 10 or so posts.

1. Ditto ^^ Bryceness. Remove PTT. Why can't you close it or BBMessenger? I don't know, you will have to ask RIM.
3. Why the variation in time to process... it is probably because of other processes occurring in your BB. It very likely is doing something else at the same time.
