I bought my first Blackberry PEARL last week.
I went to Mobipocket to download the reader. I also downloaded a book.
THEN, THE NEXT MORNING I received a call from my bank that my bankcard was suspected of "internet fraud" and my bank subsequently had BLOCKED my card. I assured my bank that indeed I made the $17 purchase from Mobipocket. After several supervisors and endless minutes (hours) on the phone, the bank agreed to lift the hold on my card.
THEN, my internet provider, AT&T/Cingular, placed a block on my IP address, stating: "550 - Blocked due to Abuse." I had to spend gruelling hours on the phone with AT&T, attempting to get the block off my IP-address.
THEN ..... Mobipocket's site is shotting down for "maintenance"

I have to assume that major challenges have been experienced within MobiPocket, as well.

Can't be a coincidence!!
In the middle of all this EXCITEMENT, I made the quick decision to sell my new PEARL and get the BLACKBERRY CURVE (the PEARL's keyboard drove me more crazy that the bank and internet provider's block); I am happy to report I am now a happy BLACKBERRY CURVE owner. Granted, I have to re-download the mobipocket reader (when/if I dare to throw myself into another transaction with mobipocket when/if they get back online from their "maintenance."
Has anyone else experienced these sorts of issues?
I appreciate any feed-back
Ms BerryLA
