Default Media player and Curve performance

Please Login to Remove!

I've just switched from a Pearl to a curve this week and it's really great. However, I've noticed that while the curve's media player is better in almost every way, the media player, when running, really slows down the BB's performance. It becomes very non-responsive. When I hit the "n" key for next song, it won't change the song for about 7-8 seconds. In fact, using the blackberry at all when music is playing is pretty impossible. Does anyone else find this? I'm on the latest OS (265). Any advice? Or is this just how it is? This was not at all a problem on the pearl.

Thanks.

How much available memory on the device? What other applications are running in the background?

I would remove the following apps:

Any other languages you don't need
DOD root certificates
Help (if you don't need it)

Also, if you've added other themes consider removing the ones you don't use. The more memory the better.

Make sure you don't have extra apps running in the background.

I also do not notice this type of slowdown. In fact, when I'm using something else while playing music it's no more than about 50% slower than without music playing. If I hit n while playing music, it goes to the next song it goes to the next song almost as fast as I push the button.
