Default What is up with the caller ID?!?

Please Login to Remove!

Why is is that when people ring me, even though their number is in my address book, their name does not appear?
Is this a faulty phone or does anyone else have this? is there an address book plugin i should get?
Also, what does the little globe sign mean? Whatever it is, i have 1 waiting for me!?
Any help appreciated.

Hi there!

Not sure if I can help, cause I am using the 8707v. But I faced this problem during my early days.

Make sure that your handheld is not encrypted as far as data is concerned, otherwise the phone cannot "unlock" while a call comes in, hence no "caller ID".

Go to Options / Security Options / General Settings / content protection (disable)
[But this menu is on my 8707v, not sure about your model, but in principle that same features.

Try this first.

this happened to me when the device memory was full. I have also lost my call logs and SMSs. if this is the case, delete the unwanted programs and files from your device memory or move them to your media card (external). I hope this could help

Sorry, I realised that I have left out the instructions.

Refresh your screen.

Worked perfectly!

I had set the Content Protection to protect the Address Book. Once I unchecked the address book the call id started working again!

Thanks so much. This problem has been bugging me for so long!
