Default Can you use it during the initial charge?

My curve is arriving today. Anybody know how long the initial charge is? Looked at the BB Curve manual online, but it didn't say.

Also, is it a bad idea to USE the phone during the initial charge? I assume so, but I am dying to play with it ASAP.

Thanks.

It shouldn't take too long to charge, maybe a couple of hours. And I believe you can use it while charging, as it is, in essence, connected to a power source. I was tinkering with my 8700g while charging the first time.

So it's ok to use it during the charge and disconnect once it says it's fully powered? The manual said just to wait until the indicator gave a thumbs up, but most devices usually say "24 hours for the initial charge", etc.

Thanks.

Personally, I would let it charge to 100%, and then give it a couple of hours. I would not use it during that initial charge, but allow it unfettered, uninterrupted charging.

Then use and recharge as needed. Read below:

Mine came with around 70% charge out of the box. I figure it was probably 100% before they boxed it up. I just used it right out of the box until I was done setting it up and then plug it in to charge completely after that. I had to wait for the unlock code to arrive in my e-mail anyway, so it had about 12 hours to get to the tip top.
