Default How do you turn off voice dialing?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way to turn off voice dialing? Every time I use my jawbone bluetooth headset and I push the answer/dial button it makes the phone prompt for voice dialing. It's annoying because if I don't want to do anything it usually ends up picking a wrong name and dialing it anyway, even when it's in my holster! How do I get rid of this feature or disable it on the curve?

Thanks in advance,
Peter

I don't know of a way to disable it completely and/or from the bluetooth headset feature. You can unassign the shortcut button to it, that's it.

Default That sucks

I'm surprised no one else on the forum has complained about this.

I use a BT everyday and don't have any issues. If I am making a call and don't want to use the voice dial feature, I just dial the number and hit send. Receiving calls doesn't even matter here. I don't see any problems unless you are somehow accidently hitting the button on your Jawbone. I've never had issues.

Default when you hang up, it happens

Sometimes your caller hangs up before you, but you still press the jawbone. That causes the voice dialing applications to step in...which you then have to pull the phone out of your pocket and cancel the call or else it may accidentally dial someone...which seems to always happen.

Default same boat

I have a similar problem with my 8830 -- the voice dial button is on the side so often when I'm putting the device into or taking it out of my pocket the voice dial button is pressed and states (loudly in an elevator) "Say a command!" I don't really like voice dialing personally and would like to turn this feature off completely but I'm not sure if there's any way to do this...

Any takers? Much appreciated

Go to Options >Screen/Keyboard. Change "Convenience Key" to "nothing."

hey ptchan5...if it happens again...instead of unholstering and terminating the call...just press the bluetooth button again and it will end voice dialing...
