Default Flip cases for the Curve - 08-29-2007, 10:31 AM

I like flip cases, because I throw my Curve in my purse -- and it needs protection in there!

I have had the Noreve Tradition flip case for about a week. It is a classy, high quality case, but I find it is difficult to use the keyboard, as the leather on the sides next to the keyboard interferes with the outside keys. I end up pulling the phone out of the case if I need to type an e-mail, which sort of defeats the purpose of the case. It also seems a bit bulky, but since it's a flip case, there's probably nothing that can be done about that.

I am considering the Sena Magnet Flipper case. From the photos on the website, the leather on the sides next to the keyboard appears to be cut back more away from the outside keys than the Noreve.

So will the keyboard be easier to use with the Sena case? Does the leather strip below the screen bother anyone? Any recommendations for other flip cases?

I did check them out, but do they have a sleep function?

I found another flip case that might work: Fortte Dual Design

Since I generally like the Noreve case -- except for the annoying leather on the sides that interferes with the outside keys -- I am considering taking it to a leather repair shop to cut the sides down and restitch the leather. Anyone tried this?

I also had the same problem with my Noreve case. I just ordered a case from ebcase. Hopefully, this will be better.

Yes, they are about the same price as Vaja cases but I think they are more versatile (removable flip and also removable clip).

Ilooked at the Curve case on ebcases.com. But in the photos, the leather on the sides next to the keyboard looks as high as the Noreve. Please let me know what you think when you get it.

Take a look at this case:

Smartphone Experts CombiFlip Case - Accesories

I have found it is reasonably priced, and it does have the sleeper function.

I, too, am searching for a flip case for my new Curve. I had a wonderful Bellagio case for my 7290, but haven't been able to find something comparable for the Curve.

I need:
1. All ports accessible
2. No bar or any other material across the face of the phone (I just got a beyza case with the material across the middle thinking I could work with it, but I can't - so to answer the OPs question, yes, that leather strip across the middle really really bothers me, using the trackball becomes very uncomfortable)
3. Pocket for credit card
4. Edge of case to actually come out slightly further than the phone, so that when I drop it, it is less likely to do any real damage

This is the one I had for the 7290:
Leather pda case for your BlackBerry 6200 / 7200 / 7250 / 7290 Series Wireless Handheld

This is the one I am considering for the Curve:
Piel Frama cases

I just hate that it is so pricey but I can't actually *hold* it before I put money out for it :(

I have no signature...!
