I can hardly stand to wait until the 24th. It feels like so long away. I wish someone would just knock me out now and then wake me up on the 24th.

You are exactly right. Like I said before, the pictures posted here aren't tampered with. The exact shots that Boygenius posted on his site have his engraved BGR logo on it. Nobody's a fool.

Hello Again -
09-04-2007, 02:53 PM
Wow I take some time off over the weekend and had to read a while to catch up.
Anyway below you will find pictures I took with 8320. I took one of the lame case that comes with the device. A simple black leatherish sleeve. Also a picture of the box it arrives in. I had to do a low res shot in order to post on this site. The @home service seems to work but I really did not mess around with that much. Of course I do like the fact is if you get a phone call while on Wifi and the go out into the world and connect to the EDGE network it is still a Wifi call and thus not charged to your minutes. Now keep in mind if you get a call while on the EDGE network and then connect to your Wifi network it will still treat it as a EDGE call.
No there is no gps but it does have a place to turn it on under the advance options. Currently it cannot not be turned on because there is no source to pull from. Spell check is a life saver too! No more misspelled emails. I am trying to locate where the dictionary is stored because I was told you would be able to load different ones (legal, medical, etc). Only 56 MB for the memory on the device. The release date for this device might happen on a Saturday. I was told T-Mobile might be doing something on the 15th of Sept. They are really trying to promote the @home service.
I do like the design of the 8320. It does fit nicely in palm of your hand and can easily slide into a pocket with out it feeling like a brick.

You should put watermarks on it or BoyGenius is going to post them with his logo and take credit.

Eh...no. The Curve is being released on Sept 24 as stated in several posts. That date is per T-Mobile. Also, it's my understanding that it will be offered in both gold and the titanium. I don't know who you get your info from, but they're wrong. You can call and ask any T-Mobile rep, they'll tell you the date (Sept 24).
Also, I don't think it was answered (or if it was I missed it), how in heaven's name did you get one of these? Employees can't get them, they're not stocked in the warehouse yet...how did you get it?

Continue to post shots if you were going too. i Dont think he meant to take credit for them but every other site in the mobile community gave him credit for them. he should however cite the source of the photos

Just to support what everyone has said here.... I just spoke to a tmobile rep and she said that the Curve will definitely be available in stores the 24th. She also said that the picture that she had of it showed that it was a dark grey color. Im surprised that they are letting the reps release this info, because when I worked in wireless we werent allowed to disclose any info about future phones until the day that we physically have them in stock. Lets hope shes right! (about the color anyways, I wouldn't mind if they got them sooner )

It looks way gold from the box. Since it is also gold in the illustration on the box, it seems pretty likely that will be the color at launch. Hopefully there will be an alternate color launched at the same time, but I am not counting on it.
The t-mobile store promised to let me trade in the 8700g I just bought last month for an 8320 until the end of the September, so if gold is the only option on 9/24, gold will be what I will have.

Well, honestly if its gold when it comes out thats what I will have too, because Im horrible at waiting for things like this. Im trying to think positively! If it is released in gold only, I think that is a really horrible decision on their part.... But im still thinking its going to be titanium. "attitude is everything" haha

Who are you to know this? I don't see you with either the device or inside information such as the op. Maybe take the time to think that those that actually know people inside RIM/t-mobile rather than calling customer service would know a little more information? Why would he tell you where he got the device? No one ever states where they receive beta devices from so why should he? Stop begging for information its very unbecoming he will post details that he wants too, not what you want.

Well at least he admitted to his mistake & "slightly" corrected the situation, however, it's still relatively hard to believe that the quote on quote mishap was a "simple misunderstanding" that he quoted. Evidence of his appearances here are quite consistent if you do just a little research.
I bet you probably would have felt better if he took that damn logo off. Every site where you see those pics, people will still issue him full credit for it. Lol. Doh!!

This post has gotten a little heated in here so I will be brief. I did go home and take some better pictures of the 8320. The release date for it is Sept. 24th for the general public. Anyway when I have some time I will post the pictures as soon as I watermark them

"Maybe take the time to think that those that actually know people inside RIM/t-mobile rather than calling customer service would know a little more information?"
Geesh. Rude. Anyway, I do have inside information, as I stated in another thread a few weeks ago. My husband works for T-Mobile, that's how I knew the date was for sure. I suggested calling T-mobile so that others could verify it, because now all the reps are allowed to give this information out to the public. The only information the don't have is the price, because it hasn't been set yet. Maybe you should lay off the assumptions as well, eh? Something about those in glass houses...I dunno. What I do know is that the information given by the original poster is partly wrong, and essentially no different than the information that's already all over the internet. Plus the fact that the pictures posted were...shall I say eerily familiar.
I won't apologize for ASKING where someone got the info/device, especially given the suscpicious pictures. So what no one ever shares where they got a device, that means that I just shouldn't ask? I also won't apologize for correcting misinformation. Isn't that what these boards are for? Sharing information, correcting information, verifying information, discussing things in a community atmosphere...

Ok maybe i can clarify a little of this.
1. The majority of people with inside sources will not divulge their sources because that can a. prevent them from getting anymore info if they go yelling out the name of whoever gave it to them, and b. jeopardize the job of their insider.
2. The pictures of the 8320 were originally posted here byt goatspike. Many blogs check other blogs/forums for information to post on their site. we should have saw it coming that the Boy Genius would post them on his site. i dont think he intended to take credit for them, its just how the mobile community took the info and credited the BG for it.
3. The pictures appeared 'suspicious' because you may have saw them on plenty of other sites before you read the post on this site.
4. This is a forum. Questions are strongly encouraged (at least in my opinion) and you shouldn't be flamed for asking a question. so i think everyone should lighten up a little and get ready to enjoy some nice GOLD (lol) 8320 footage until the actual retail unit is available on the 24th

The phone will be gold, with a possible silver/grey release in the future. Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but thats straight from the blackberry rep and also the T-Mobile flyers and information is all of a gold Curve. Hope everyone enjoys their new Gold Curve!

Does anyone want to see clearer pictures? I took them with my digital camera and have them ready but this post area has gotten a little testy. I have them and have agree to send them to Boy Genius as well. I look at those early pics and shudder at how crappy they look.

I have a friend that works in IT who got a couple of these units in at work. It looks like the big corporate customers are already getting 8320 eval units. These were also gold colored.
