Yea me too. I got my pearl in march. Unfortunately I made the mistake of getting the wing, instead of waiting for the curve. So im selling that, and a few other things on ebay to get the funds for my curve. I think that it couldn't be more than 450 retail. I also considered getting an unlocked 8300 because its cheaper, but only by about 100 bucks.

Upgrade is not an option for the next few weeks, so I was told . . .

8320 has to be activated with new line of service, but do make sure to ask for 1-year contract only . . . this site has some useful info . . . Atlantic Express Promo Page

Is the Atlantic Promo good for anyone anywhere?? And 1 year contract?

I just placed my order with a business rep for the Curve. The deal is the same as Crisambo posted previously. $249 for the phone with new line activation - you must activate a new line. $50 rebate if you add a data package.

Here is what I did - added a new line to my personal family plan for $9.99 a month (this line will use my pooled family plan minutes) and ordered no data service. The new activation is a one year contract. $35 activation fee is waived. Phone will ship Friday and I am supposed to have it Monday.

So, the phone will cost me $249 (as I am not eligible for the rebate as I ordered no data plan with this activation.)

The business rep told me that the deal I am getting is the same deal that will be available to the public on 9/24 using the code Crisambo posed in the above URL.

That's total bs if that is the case. I may just stick it out wit my SK if that is indeed the case.

I really don't believe that at all. It doesn't make any sense. Tmobile is really good to their existing customers, I really don't see them doing that.

Don't get it twisted, I'm very thankful. If it's available I'll grab it otherwise I'll stick it out with my SK3.

I talked to a tmo rep today and they called my local store (really 50 miles away), and they said that they would never turn a customer away.

If someone is there to purchase a phone, they will sale it. They wouldn't turn anyone down for an upgrade.

Also, after the rep called the store, she said she knows most of the current policies, and there is no such thing as making someone wait for upgrading.

Also, the other 2 reps I called the past few days told me to check tmobile.com and upgrade monday.

That would be ridiculous for them not to let us upgrade on monday, and trust me they will allow it.

Yes, I just talked to a customer service rep as well (and got his name...) he told me that would be crazy for them to do that and they have never done that with any device and aren't starting now. He said that there is no way they would turn down business... that makes sense to me! He said that he got similar questions when the sk3 came out (and even with the limited edition ones) they never refused a purchase....

yeah it would be very stupid to make people wait for an upgrade, tmobile likes their customers...

and out of any customer service department i have ever had to call (xbox 360 w/microsoft, linksys, charter, tmobile, blizzard, etc) they are definitely the friendliest... and easiest to understand (cough microsoft cough)...

i would never anticipate them to make us wait... especially at how excited we be :]

. . .the keywords are USING THE CODE . . . saves you on Activation Fee and 2-day shipping, plus 1-year contract only. . .

I hope what was told to me about no upgrades for a few weeks was wrong . . . of course, you've got to do what you've got to do . . . I'm just sharing info received . . . it's still up to anyone what you do with that info . .

you know, some sales people, (especially the business sales people at wireless companies) tend to have the habit of telling you things like that to make it look like you are getting something special or a better deal. maybe not in this case, but I have seen it in the past.....

I have a T-Mobile store 3 blocks from where I work. Spoke with the store manager and he said just come in on Monday and I will be able to get one. This is after I told him that I am still under contract and not entitled to an upgrade. He told me it doesnt matter and that I can switch out as many phones as I want, however I will have to pay full tilt until I reach the end of my contract. I don't give a rats a... what costs at this point, I plan to have my new toy on Monday!!

Good luck to everyone else who is getting theirs as well

Not sure but for some reason I think they will and could bill it to your account. Maybe someone else can chime in to confirm...

My plan is to sit back and wait for the reports from all you early adopters. Hey, sometimes it hurts to be on the bleeding edge of technology. Of course I may need methodone to help me wait, but that's my problem. :D

Not sure where the confusion is coming from.
I spoke to two different TMO CSRs this week asking to upgrade to the 8320
and both informed me that I am indeed eligible and would be able to do it as
soon as the phone launches on Sept. 24th.- either in-store or by phone through CS.
No Waiting!!

What is really going to help me wait is how much I went through to get my Curve to run on T-Mobile! It's a Rogers unit, unlocked by GSMPhoneSource. Wiped and re-provisioned with the O2 operating system. Finally, a new SIM card from T-Mobile to get the browsers to appear. I must have reinstalled the OS about two dozen times, no lie. I figured I was missing some small but significant step in the OS installation process because I simply couldn't get my browsers. Turns out my SIM card was too old, new when the 7230 model was the latest hotness in the Blackberry world. So after all this I'm not so willing to put my Curve down just yet.

That browser service book has been fixed. You can get a browser on the unlocked curves with TMo now.

I wonder if we'll be able to get Hotspot@Home service with the Curve. And if it will be actually be enabled on the Curve come launch date. That would be a deal. No more crappy Skype VoIP, just use my cellphone. Woohoo!

crisambo, when you ordered your phone through CS did they bill it to your account or did you have to pay for the phone immediately?

I ordered my titanium 8320 from my T-Mobile rep yesterday. It is billed to my corporate account. She said I might not get it until Tuesday, but I can wait an extra day. I am still having problems with my second 8300 dropping calls/going silent during a call, even after upgrading to the latest OS, so I am hoping the T-Mobile branded device will work better. T-Mobile emailed me a confirmation and will send me a tracking number once it ships. Let's hope it ships Friday and arrives Monday.

That is completely inconsistent with the recent 8800 issue where it wasn't availble for current users who wanted to "upgrade", BUT was available to new subscribers...

By my corp T-Mobile rep, and the 800 number confirmed this, and I had many users that had to WAIT on getting a blackberry because of it.

So it CAN Happen...

Now, this was well after launch... (last month)... and was due to shortage of stock... and was the first case I've seen T-Mobile do this (then again, I only work with blackberries, so I can't speak for it they've done this for phones...)

I don't expect the Curve to be restricted like this at launch... i.e. it should be eligible for both new and Current customers....

I'm in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" camp. Although I might go for it and unlock all the themes at the same time. I've gone a bit theme-happy lately.

FYI. I just got a call from the business rep I placed my pre-order with. T-Mobile just told them that they have been quoting and charging the wrong price for the phone. Instead of $249 for new one year activation, it was supposed to be $299. However, he said, T-Mobile would honor the price quoted to anyone who has already placed their pre-order. The price of $299 will show up on your bill with an immediate credit of $50.

Upgrade will be available. It can not be keyed in until after the release date. I will pass along more info when I get it.
