Talking T-Mobile 8320 - 08-31-2007, 02:33 PM

Well I have the new 8320. It is a lovely shade of GOLD. Which also points to me that the new Pearl that is gold will be a T-Mobile release. Anyway the device is very light and smaller than the 8800. I am happy the keyboard is spaced out. Wifi and camera are both there as well. If I have time I will post some pics but being the holiday weekend I plan on testing this thing out.

Sweet, did you buy it in a store, online, or do you have connections? Not sure about the gold color though. Can you take pictures?

Default Some quick pictures of the 8320 - 08-31-2007, 02:50 PM

I spoke to my contact and he said they should be out the second week in September. Seems customs caused some hold up issues. Anyway here are some pictures but keep in mind it was taken with a Peal and they are fuzzy. I compared it with the 8800 to give you the size difference.

I will buy it anyway, but not loving the gold. Still, that pictures demonstrates how much smaller it is than the 8800.

I have already fired the photographer and smashed his 8100. If I get a chance to use the camera I will post some. Anyway I do like the device so far.

I don't like the gold color, though. Will probably get it, then change the casing out with the shell from the 8300 if they are compatible.

Remember T-Mobile is always last to the gate with software release. The last time the did an early release was for the Pearl (4.2.1.103 ) only to have to pull it quickly back. So T-Mobile will stick to testing and more testing before releasing software updates.

I actually don't mind it. I mean how many different colors of Black (Midnight, Onyx, etc) can you do or blue. When I look over at the the gold blackberry I think of Austin Powers....granted Goldmember wasn't a great movie

I know this is exciting and all but isn't it still an 8300 series blackberry? There seems to be some delight that the size is smaller than the 8800. We knew that already right? It's a curve with colorful casing options and wifi. Did I miss something?

I thought this model was supposed to have Wifi and GPS ( not Wifi and Camera ).... am I wrong?

What does the 8310 have then?

The 8310 has GPS & camera. The 8820 has the WiFi and GPS (no camera).

What an unGodly color. Ghastly. Corny Corn Hole.

C'mon, a professional is supposed to buy a plastic, cheap looking gold PDA!? You're as likely to see a professional driving a slammed (lowered) 1986 Honda Civic with ground effects lighting.

What marketing genius came up with this? If it weren't for the ghastly color, my order would be in already. IMO, this is a pathetic design in a time of increasingly well designed phones from a visual perspective. Total kitsch.

I remember reading somewhere that this phone will be offered in two colors: Gold and Titanium. Since it isn't yet offered retail for a few more weeks, I am still of the belief that this isn't the only color.

Got a feeling that it'll look more TAN in colour; in person.
No doubt about it this is a Mobile 8320 .... that MyFav's is a Telltale sign. I remember posting a picture of that a few weeks back.

If I cannot get the darker grey casing of the Vodafone/O2 8310 GPS model then I'll paint my TMobile 8320 BLACK!

come to think of it I think I'm going to experiment on one this weekend with my sisters Curve. ;)

Looking for that perfect signature, hmm.

Oh great, because gold is so classy -- why, fellas, it just screams CLASS! lol

Didn't I see there were some non RIM shells for sale somewhere anyway, for those unfortunate TMO hostages with a bit of taste?

(I suppose I shouldn't judge until I've seen it -- it may actually be nice...)

Yes, everything that has been mentioned is true. Except the gold or sliver colors.

- 2MP (not 3.2)
- Wifi/@ home

etc? What else?

I was talking to someone in the executive escalation department at T-Mo and she mentioned that while there is WiFi, there is no H@H/UMA support in the 8320.

I wonder if the thing contains 3g hardware that can be enabled via a software upgrade when the network is ready.

I wouldn't get into too much of a lather about the color. It's an evaluation model so they may well have given it a distinctive color for easy identification if someone tried to eBay it. I would expect the final retail version to be more in line with every other BB they've released in recent memory: black or silver.

You obviously know nothing about beta devices, aside from official doccuments showing it as gold, a beta model being gold, you still think it is going to be silver or black? FYI T-mobile 8700g was blue not black so please think before giving us your worthless 2 cent installment.

Not to mention with the release a few weeks a way this is more than likely an official release version not an "evaluation model".
