hey
i know ive posted a few threads asking for help and everyones been awesome in helping but ive got more :D
1 - are *.jad files meant to be downloaded directly on BB devices? ( i do not have a data plan i just use it as a cellphone and txt a lot ) if so is there anyway to install them with desktop manager?
2 - is there any good timetable programs out there? im a college student and would like to put my weekly schedule in as i have a horrible memory and can never memorize my timetable

1 - I believe that is true - .jad is for OTA (over the air) download only. The only way to get the application other than OTA is get the file format in a 'download' version that has a .jar/.cod/.alx (I'm sure I have that a little wrong and someone else will clarify).
2 - Good timetable program..... you mean like the Calendar application that is native to the device?

1. JAD files are just text descriptors for JAR files. They contain meta information and the location of the JAR file. They cannot be loaded onto the device from desktop manager. For that you need an ALX and COD file combination. A member of the forums has written a conversion process. While it is really cool, it is not for the faint of heart.
2. How about the built-in calendar. Maybe I am missing something here.

JAD is to ALX - Text Descriptors
Like
JAR is to COD - Java Code
JAD/JAR is generic converted on download using a BIS or a BES
ALX/COD is created using the blackberry development kit (official name?)

RUM??? Blast. I came home from work really wanting a drink. No such luck for me. I have to go pick up my brother from the Nashville airport tonight and that is a 5 hr round trip. He couldn't get a local flight. Only redeeming quality is that I can finish up "The Drawing of the Three" on audiobooks.

If your trying to look at a set schedule and not something you need to edit you could always create it in excel, email it to yourself or load with the manager, and then use beamberry (which you will download free) to view it.

If you got a *.jad, then you don't have a theme, you have a text file describing the them you would have if you had the accompanying *.jar file.

change the default view to week view and set your week up the way you want to see it with recurring appointments....
