I just purchased my new curve last night and I like to you MSN messenger for work related activites while I am out of the office in meetings etc. However when trying to signin on my curve I get the following error "The selected address is not passport enabled". The weird thing is my other phone is the Dash and it works just fine using windows live to sign in on that device. Any ideas?

Went To Tmobile Today To Ask And They Said It Might Have To Be A Msn Thing..... He Also Said Something About Coverting To Msn Live It Might Help What Ever That Means? Please Help!!

I had a hunch on what was causing this and just tried it on mine:

When you are logging in, are you putting for your username the whole email address i.e. ? If it's a hotmail, msn or live account, you just need to put the username part. When I put in the full hotmail email address it gave me the error you are talking about.

If you look below the username field, you will see field called domain. If you use hotmail.com, msn.com or live.com, you pick it from the dropdown. If you have a different login, pick the Other email address and put your email address in the username field.

I TRIED THAT AND IT STILL SAID CONNECTION ERROR.... I TRIED EVERYTHING ACTUALLY :(

Are you talking about the passport error the original poster is having? He's connecting and the service is telling him his username isn't a passport account.

I Can Sign In Fine On My Computer But When I Go To The Balckberry It Says Quote "connection Error (56) Problem With Encryption Of Message" What Does That Mean And How Do I Sign Onto My Phone?

From doing a google search on the error, it has something to do with the date and time, or time zone on your BB being incorrect. Double check your date and time on the device and see if that helps. People had the same error with Google Talk and there's a thread on this site about it:

i love forums, i work for a mobile network, and i get a lot of info from these places, everyone seems to think we have all the answers, but a lot of the time were fumbeling in the dark too. we don't write the software for msn or for the blackberry phones so when people call us up with a problem like this, i mess abut with my phone or come here.
