Default Transferring Text Messages - 10-06-2007, 02:11 AM

My bb is starting to act slow because of the amount of text messages I have on it. Is there anyway to transfer them to my computer?

You may back them up to your computer through DM but you would not have access to them without a restore. Sorry.

Not as easily as you would probably like, but yes, do a backup of your BB, using Desktop Manager. That creates a backup file (*.ipd). From that backup file you can extract the SMS text messages to your PC, using this software
Free download ABC Amber BlackBerry Convertor, convert IPD files to CHM, PDF, HTML, Word, Access, Excel, CSV, IPD Extractor

Good luck.

Are you sure it's the number of txt messages that's slowing it down? Have you rebooted the device by removing the battery and reinserting?

MMS messages take waaaaaaaay more memory than a sms. We are talking 200kb vs less than 1k per message. So ten 200 kb mms equals 2000k vs 2000 sms. So if you have 50 mms sitting on your phone, not including the one you sent yourself which can take memory as well, that will be the place i would start deleting
