Me neither but have you noticed that playing videos the next " N " key i believe, doesn't jump to the next video or am i hitting the wrong key?

P.S. Im gonna upgrade to this OS and see if that helps or if im hitting the wrong key then ill upgrade anyways. I also hope this fixes the annoying popping sound before a call is connected, ANNOYING! but not horrible.

*CORRECTION TO ABOVE POST*

You can only skip to the NEXT video by using the shortcut " N " key, only when viewing videos via the EXPLORE option. If you just go straight to MEDIA it won't.

I am in the same boat John, My device works great but the urge is pushing me. Hearing the earlier talk about .180 has me cautious about .175

Wonder if this misbehaves with bluetooth and UMA or the bluetooth GPS issue?

Anyone that's loaded it, can you give us the versions / info of the bluetooth and wifi modules that are in this package?

Like we have discussed in the other thread WifI and Bluetooth is a frequency problem and not a fix that can be corrected in a new OS.

Is that really true or perhaps an error?

BTW - make sure you hit the BlackBerry site *after* upgrading and reinstall those T-Mobile SSL certificates; these are partially what make UMA work, I'm betting that since this is HK CSL it's missing those. (maybe - someone should look right after an upgrade and verify for us!)

I'd say test a little without installing them and see what happens, but be prepared to have to do it just in case.

navigation throughout the phone is pretty instant, no lag at all. I have 3 megs extra free.

Have not made any phone calls yet, I did upgrade with desktop manager connected to my network with bes. No issues with with wifi data.

Did you have to do what Rivvie talked about above? Or did UMA work immediately following the upgrade?

Did you use the backup/restore part of the upgrade? That process restores the certs database as part of the work. We'd need to get someone to do a wipe-upgrade and then check just to be sure, methinks. No, I'm not volunteering.

Anyone else notice this in the new Vendor.xml that was loaded with the CSL build? This is trimmed down but seems to indicate that a new T-Mobile build is imminent.

<vendorsrc version="1.0.0.429">
<vendor id="0x64" Name="T-Mobile US">
<bundle id="System" version="4.2.2.310">
<devicehwid>0x84000F03</devicehwid>
</bundle>
<bundle id="System" version="4.2.2.324">

</bundle>

Maybe I'm blind, but I clicked that link on the first post and chose the 8300 and I do not see the OS listed by the version number?

Nevermind I was clicking on the 8300 link instead. I see it now.

I have not had this problem. Everything including UMA is working the same as before so far. Initial benchmarks show WiFi is much faster. I am downloading at 55 KB/sec vs 20-22KB/sec on the previous T-mobile release. Haven't done extensive testing yet so it may just be a fluke. Java app downloading over BES is still only getting 20-22KB.

Anyone else done any downloads over WiFi yet on this new build?

So far so good, connected immediately to UMA after updating OS, made a couple of test calls and no problems. Only thing I noticed is that my upcoming events in my calendar did not show up on my bPhone Today theme. I had to change themes and then they showed up when I went back to the Today theme.

Kit, how are you benchmarking your BB?

I updated and notice how the Wifi acts a little different than the first version. Like there is more communication with the router.... The arrows blink like crazy when getting data. Its like the data transmission cycle has been tuned up.....And wifi is smoother..... like for every sec of continuous data there are like 2 blinks per sec, with the update there is at least 4 blinks per sec. ( this is the arrows in the corner)

I'm to curious about performance so I'm gonna do the OS update and see what happens. If I don't like it I can always downgrade.

I concur with the others - WiFi is definitely is faster with this version of the OS then T-Mobile's official version of the OS. I have noticed no discernable downsides yet. Also, upgrading to this OS got rid of my phantom "missing call" icon (my home screen would always show 2 missed calls, even though I had no missed calls).

All of the code is written by RIM, and then tested and released by the carriers. If you do not have any issues, then do not upgrade. If you want to be on the leading edge or try to resolve issues, by all means upgrade.

When you install the package, you can select English only.

One thing I've noticed is connecting to a WiFi connection is so slow with this OS version (well for me anyways). With the previous OS version I'd enter the wep key if it was protected or I'd connect if it was open within seconds... with this OS if I try to connect to an open network or enter a wep key for a protected network it takes about a minute before it connects. Has anyone else experienced this or is it just my 8320 that's doing this?

Wirelessly posted (xyrcncp: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

This is what I don't get about some people, they complain about what has kept them away from a product like it's the end of the world. Like NJB said, if you don't like it then use a product that caters to your needs.

As John Clark mentioned up in the first post, separate Chinese is available.
For those who are looking for the direct link to the CJK:

Sorry, was in too much of a hurry to grab the OS download to read the full post up on top.

I just did this upgrade. I originally migrated from the 8100 to the 8320 and originally did the selective restore when I first got it. UMA worked from the start.

However, during this upgrade I let the upgrade process do it's thing and lost the certificates for UMA. I had to install the certificates from the BlackberryHELP site. Does the DM not backup and restore the certificates during a simple upgrade?
