Default 8320 Wifi satisfaction - 09-29-2007, 01:04 PM

Will you indulge me? It's weird how disparate the experiences are. Have we correlated the happy 8320 wifi users and the sad 8320 wifi users with anything to know why some are happy and some are sad?

Anyway, please vote and tell us your situation. By "happy" I mean you get reliably good call quality and faster-than-EDGE browsing.

Happy 8320 users: is the handoff between UMA and EDGE instantaneous, or is there a period of silence?

What about people's opinion on just WiFi internet browsing. I haven't tried H@H, but I'm not happy with my WiFi browsing. My Curve doesn't stay connected to the router all the time and when it is connected, it's not fast at all. I've had a better experience with the plain EDGE signal.

Have you read through the WiFi FAQ's? There are some pretty good articles there already for optimizing your wifi experience and making sure all is working good.

Wow; I have a total opposite situation. My WiFi browsing (at home, using my router and not the T-Mobile one) is outstanding.

I want one so very much! Think my employer ATT will be upset if I have tmo @home?

Default Happy Happy Joy Joy - 09-29-2007, 07:16 PM

Very happy using generic wifi. Browsing is super fast on wifi. Obviously much faster than on EDGE. UMA calls are outstandingly clear.

I have not been to Starbucks yet to test the wifi there. But I went to Cosi which has free wifi - the wireless router signal was very weak so the browsing was the same as edge.

IMHO - Before getting in a tizzy people should check the signal that they are receiving from the router (low means slow) and if you have H@H you should purchase the TMO router to ensure smooth operation.
