Question anyone use Armor Case? - 10-08-2007, 08:46 AM

I have been thinking of getting some type of hard case for my 8830. (philosophical debates aside).

I'd like to use something like that on the weekends when I am out (kids football games, etc), and then don't think I need it quite as much or at all during the week when I don't want to feel like I'm at a construction site when I am in the office or with customers.

The seido hybrid case looks like one choice, but doesn't look like it will come off easily, so its a bit of a compromise for me - good protection without looking too rough for the office. But it looks nice. Not sure how I would handle a battery pull yet (for when the keyboard shortcut doesn't work), and it may not work that great in the OEM holster which I like.

Then I saw this case, which looks like it works better for using only when you want to:
Armor Case - 8830 Metal Case / BlackBerry 8830 Metal Case / 8830 Aluminum Case / BlackBerry 8830 Aluminum Case

anyone have this / use it? can you comment on it?

Is there a reason you're asking about a case for the 8830 in the General 8300Series Discussion section? Just doesnt seem to make much sense to me.

yes because sometimes cases, etc. made for one model don't work so well for other models. not knowing which model this case was originally designed for I thought I'd post here, (as in it does / doesn't work so well for the XXX model, etc).

So the part of it that says 8830 all over your original post didnt give you a hint as to which model it was designed for? or in looking at the pictures of the case, the fact that the 8300's have cameras and the 8800's dont, the lack of a place for a camera lense to show on the back of the case was not another clue that this is not compatible with the 8300 series. But hey, it is what it is.

Post should be moved none the less

I've never used an aluminum case, but have heard that they can play havoc with RF and reception. Anyone had any experience with this?

thanks..yeah, I did see the ottor boxes, but seemed like it might be a little bit more than I need, but for fishing, etc. would be worth it.

anyway, I ordered the armor case... I'll post back after I get it and use it for a week and see how it is... thanks for the post
