Default UK EDGE coverage - 09-02-2009, 07:59 AM

Any UK users getting EDGE on their Curve's at all? I'm on O2 and haven't been able to get it, only GPRS

Does EDGE have to be activated or switched on by another means? I know for AT&T's customers wanting EDGE or EDGE-only there is a process for the Bold...

Any help would be appreciated

Had: 8700g, 9000, 8220, 9500, 8110
Have: 8520 Curve

In that order! Missing 3G

I believe O2 does have EDGE coverage, but I believe its only in London.
EDGE coverage is only on O2 and Orange but isnt particularly widespread.
Mostly the UK operates the GPRS network

EDGE is available outside of London, although doesn't cover as much of the UK as GPRS (around 50% last time i heard). The O2 website should give you a coverage map to check whether EDGE is available in your area.
