As an FYI, I have no problems using PacketMac with my MacBook Pro and BB 9000. As for the OP, I suggest you go to your carrier's corporate store and look at and "play with" each device and see which feels better to you. You are really th eonly one that make the decision. As for battery life, that really depends upon usage. Some get a day or more, others get less. Reception depends on location. Some BBs aren't quite as good as others, but I think have decent reception as long as there is a good signal where you are. IMHO a QWERTY keypad is always better for typing than the SureType keypad, but that I also a personal decision. |
You didn say what your budget was. Don't do with the 8520... Just.. Don't! |
wow, i signed up to ask the same question. :) so ill thank you all too :P |
Well, now that an expert has spoken... Texxo - first pick the carrier; sounds like you have done that. Decide which keyboard form factor (suretype/share keys or dedicated keyboard). Some people simply don't like the Suretype keyboard - I don't. If possible, go to a store and check them out. 8120 - Suretype keyboard 8220 - Suretype flip phone 8520 - consumer grade, full keyboard. No GPS. And TT doesn't like it 8900 - not exactly burly, but a solid device Good luck choosing. |
Agreed, the 8900 is a solid device! NJ.. I know you love me!!:oops: |
my budget is like 200-250 €... pearl flip 8220 -> 199€ 8520-> 249€ 8900-> 349€ so i can choose one between 8220 and 8520. i haven't use a smartphone, i don't need mail or internet. wich i better??? is the qwerty of 8520 far better for sms tiping then suretype of 8220??? |
it depends. qwerty naturally makes it easier to text if you type on a computer alot. |
If you don't need mail or Internet, then the BB probably isn't the device for you. There are probably better and cheaper devices out there. As for which is better, my suggestion is go try them out for yourself. It really is a personal preference. IMHO, QWERTY is the way to go. Others do not think that way. |
