Default Latest OS: 8520 4.6.1.465/4.6.1.314 (Multilanguage) - 11-02-2009, 09:39 AM

Software For BlackBerry® Curve(TM) 8520 Smartphone
from carrier T-Mobile UK this OS will load to any 8520 model

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.1.465 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.6.1.465
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.6.1.314
* Software Platform: 4.2.0.135
* File name: 8520wifiM_PBr4.6.1_rel465_PL4.2.0.135_A4.6.1.314.e xe
* File size 117mb

Download the OS here:
Blackberry

Instructions to install, regardless of carrier.

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Hi,

I downloaded the language pack from my service provider site and
I am trying to install it but it says "Error reading set up initilization file" and I can't run the file.

I am trying to update the desktop manager to 5.1 but I got an error message too.

All I need is Japanese Language Input.

Do you know if your language pack has Japanese language in it?

My phone only shows a white loading screen with a timer in the middle, and it seems not to power down. And i can't turn it on either?

I found this version of the OS made my 8520's battery drain overnight. I'm downgrading to the version on blackberry.com
