I just got upgraded to 8520 from 8700r model last week by my company and I had exactly the same issue you have, its the feedback issue between the microphone and Speaker.
I use to hear echo or find myself in an empty room when I use to speak on the 8520.
I called the Rogers support line and they said its a faulty unit and replace it which I did now just waiting for a new unit. Get it replaced as soon as possible.
