Question 8530 App Compatibility

Please Login to Remove!

I am trying to decide whether to purchase the Curve 8530 or Tour 9630. I'm concerned about the trackball issues with the Tour- and some have pointed me toward the 8530. However, there are many apps that I have found, that do not list the 8530 device. They mention the 8520, but not specifically the 8530.

So I'm wondering if the 8520 apps are compatible with the 8530? Has anyone had any problems with app compatibility at all with the 8530 phone?

Thanks.

I haven't noticed any issue with them. Although I haven't downloaded that many to begin with.

Thanks for the info. Instead of the Curve 8530, I opted for the Tour 9630.

Most times, software will work for the same series.

Example, 8300 software should work on any 83xx series. The main differences between different series are:

Wifi or no Wifi
Cdma or gsm radio
gps or no gps

Id always go for the wifi...8530 is probably the best BB device on Sprint (we all know how crappy the storms are)
