Default Is my new Blackberry costing me a bomb?

Please Login to Remove!

Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong section. Only joined the forum today - still learning my way around.

My problem is to do with my new 8520 I got today. I havent currently bought myself a proper monthly contract sim yet with a Blackberry data plan and am simply using an old sim card from an older 3g phone.

It has configured itself and I can now receive/make calls and send texts etc. And I can also access the internet when i turn data services on. However, I have turned this off because I am worried about my measly 1mb a month allowance being used up (sim card is from a phone where you dont really sue the internet on it).

Even with this turned off, is the blackberry still going to be accessing the internet and leaving me with a huge bill at the end of the month?

Might sound a stupid question but there is a little gprs logo on the screen and on any previous phone i've had, thats usually meant that it is accessing the internet.

Thanks

James

PS: I am in the UK and am with o2 if it helps.

Nope, data services OFF means no data

If you had a data plan it would show GPRS in caps. gprs in small letters is a good sign that you are NOT using data.
