Hi all,
I've looked at a few other threads and couldn't find any that were exactly like my problem so here goes.

My Blackberry went off to be fixed and has been replaced with a new one.

This new one has none of the quick icons for setting up my email, and when I go on the set up wizard and go on email setup, it only gives me the option of a work email account with BES...I don't even know what that is!

Does anyone have a clue what I need to do as I'm totally lost and would really appreciate the help!

my guess is that you need to modify your BIS account to update your new device PIN and IMEI numbers. You can do this by logging into the BIS account with a PC or call your carrier and have them do it.

Ditto. And when you update your BIS to the new device PIN and send service books, you'll be good to go. You won't have to use the setup app unless you want to add another account or modify an existing accounts settings.

ok so this BIS thing.....what is it? And where would one update it, online? Linky?

Yes. You could do it yourself at you carrier's web portal to BIS. Or you could call customer service.

ahh you genius that's worked! second question, I registered all my BBM contacts onto my now set up email address(thank you!) how would I go about getting all those contacts back?

Do you use the new BBM and did you remotely backup your contacts before?

yes it was the new(ish) BBM and I don't think it was remote but they were certainly saved to an email address

Open BBM, menu, options, see if you find a "restore" button, and go from there. I think the other option is local backup to media card, so maybe that's what you did. Hopefully you have the microSD card still.
