Default daughter in Majorca but cant use IM

Please Login to Remove!

My daughter is in Majorca and expected to be able to instant message me as she had left her data services, on however she can't message me or receive my messages even though we can SMS each other.We are both on PAYG and pay monthly for Blackberry services. Can anybody help ?

Most PAYG BlackBerry Data services do not work outside of your home area. There are no roaming agreements in place for the data. Voice and SMS will work. I don't believe there is anything you can do.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is it only on contract that instant messaging is available whilst away from your own country as my son has used his in the past but he is on contract.

I believe so. Only a few carriers allow BlackBerry Data on PAYG.
