Default GPS on Alltel BB 8530

Yes, still Alltel. =)

As far as I know, I have the GPS turned on. In the advanced setup, everything is on. As well, I have the little cross-hair icon with radiating arcs on my home screen.

When I use the built in app (the compass), it finds me very accurately and will show speed, etc.

When I use Bing, it'll find me, but I can't get directions. It gives some GPS error message. I'm inside, so I can't duplicate it right now.

When I use Google, it estimates where I am and is way off. It shows a circle showing me that I could be anywhere within it.

Am I doing something wrong?

I see where somebody said to get Telenav, then cancel it, but others say they don't have to. I've tried starting the built-in app and then running google/bing and it makes no difference. I tried a golf scoring game with GPS and it couldn't find my location to find any courses.

What gives? Telenav?

Thanks,
Andy

Google Maps doesn't always work correctly. Try Poynt and Blackberry Maps and let us know how your device reacts.
