Default Cannot install intellisync

Please Login to Remove!

I have just bought a new BB Curve 8520.

On my desktop I have Windows 7, with Microsoft Outlook 2007. My e-mail is a Windows Live account through Office Live, which I believe is a web-based e-mail account. This means, in order for me to get e-mail in Outlook, I have to use the Microsoft Outlook Connector.

When I go to sync using Desktop Manager, I first try and install intellisync through the Wizard and I get a “successfully installed message, but when I click “OK” the error: "Folder is no longer part of system data source or the folder could not be found” appears and I am never able to sync successfully, either through the USB or wirelessly.

However, I am receiving the e-mails through to my BB.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest Desktop Manager (5.0.1) many times.

One of the solutions proposed on the BB website is to set up a new MAPI profile (KB030307), but unfortunately the instructions to do this are only available via the paid Technical Forum.

But if I'm unable to sync Calendar, Tasks, or clear deleted e-mails etc. with my Desktop, the BB is not a lot of help or benefit to me. I would welcome to have some support on this. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You won't be able to sync emails with Desktop Manager anyway.
However, it should allow sync of calendar and tasks once the synchronisation is setup in Desktop Manager.

Well indeed it should sync - but it doesn't. So if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be grateful.

Have you set up which items you want it to sync, in the synchronisation area?

No, I cannot, because when I attempt to do this by installing Intellisync through the Wizard, I get as far as the “successfully installed" message, but when I click “OK” to exit the error message: "Folder is no longer part of system data source or the folder could not be found” appears.

Therefore I am never able to sync successfully, either through the USB or wirelessly.

I cannot tell you how frustrated I now am (four days in).

Im confused by the "installing intellisync" part.
Installing Desktop Manager should be all you need to do. Im not sure at what point its asking you to install intellisync.
