Hi Everyone,

I bought my first blackberry 2 days ago. I haven't even set up my email yet so I've been using it like any other cell phone so far. This morning when I turned on the phone, it's constantly freezing at the 'wait' cursor.

This means I can't do anythign with the phone and it stays there constantly.

I read a post here which said I should try removing the battery, leae it that way for about 30 seconds and try turning it on again but that didn't work.

Any ideas on what I can do?

Please explain the freeze issue. Is there some sort of error message, such as JVM 507 or JVM 523 or similar?

With the device ON, remove the battery for 30 to 60 seconds, then replace and let it reboot. Does that have any affect? Might have to do it a couple times.

What did you do to or with the device just before this happened? Did you load an app or a theme perhaps?

Did you drop it or get it wet?

My BB freezed up after upgrading applications. This problem happened to me twice, but this time I don't know how to fix it. I tried pulling out the battery, let it reboot for like 100th times but still freezing with a message of the new application. I was not able to make or receive any calls.

Should I just go to the service center and ask to get a software downloaded to fix it?
