Default Search Calender Returns No Results

When I try to search for an appointment (like a Birthday or Dental appointment) in my calendar my BB returns no results. If I go to a date I can see the appointment but if I search for that same appointment it doesn't find it. It used to work but for some reason it seems to have craped out. I even cleared my calendar and re-synced and still nothing. Am I doing something wrong?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You probably need to give an example. For instance, if you are searching for anniversaries or birthdays and those dates appear in the calendar because they were originally entered for a contact in the address book, you will not find those with a search on the calendar. That's my memory of previous devices, and what I see on 9700/5.0.0.714.

Also, I think a search for a recurring appointment will on show the original date and not each reoccurrence.

Otherwise, first troubleshooting step is a 30-second battery removal.

For an example:
After my last dental appointment I made an appointment for my next cleaning session and entered it in my BB. A couple months ago I did a search for it because I knew it was getting close so I wanted to find the exact day and time. I was able to search and find it using "dental" with no problem. Today if I search for "dental" it returns nothing, yet if I go to the date (Thursday Sept 2nd, 2010) the appointment "Dental Cleaning" is there. I can open it, edit it, save it, but I can't search for it with any success. The same holds true for Birthdays, Anniversaries, or any calendar appointment, none of which were entered as contact information but entered either in Outlook or the BB calendar.

Battery pull tried - Failed
Restore from backup tried - Failed
Wipe calendar and re-sync data tried - Failed

I think my last resort may be to wipe and restore to an older backup?

I'm stumped. I expected the battery pull to correct the problem.

I would have thought clearing the calendar database and re-syncing would have corrected the problem if the battery pull didn't.

I doubt trying an older backup is going to fix the problem, but won't hurt to try. Be sure and do a backup now, beforehand.

How about doing another battery pull. Do it with the power on. This time wait two or three minutes before you replace the battery. See if that does it.

Thanks, I'll try the long battery pull first then the old backup tonight and see how it goes.
