Default bb to pc connection problems

Please Login to Remove!

i have just got the blackberry curve 8520, my problem is i can not get it to connect to my pc, i have downloaded and installed the latest blackberry desktop software. when i connect my bb via the usb lead the pc will recognise it as a bb smartphone and install drivers, i can see the memory card on my dsk top, and the phone will light up with the line connecting to desk top, after a while this appears to time out. to make matters more confusing i tried to connect with my daughters laptop and this was actually succesful. thinking it may be a pc issue i have reintalled my windows 7 64 bit op system, but i still have the same issues. i have a gigabyte p55ud5 mother board and have read there may be an issue with the board not putting out enough power for i phones etc, has anyone heard of this and has anyone found a solution

The problem I think is the 64 bit Windows OS. The BB and DM do not like it yet. A fix is rumored, possibly early in 2011.

Are you connecting directly into the PC and not via a HUB? Try connecting to a USB int he back of the PC rather than the front.
