Default BB 8530 Curve Delete Signature (with a twist)

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all, I perused the FAQs before posting but couldn't find help.

My phone has the obnoxious "sent from my Sprint Blackberry" signature. I tried to erase it via my device, but to no avail. In Messages-->General Options, I have no option to erase an auto-signature. It's simply not there.

I went to the BIS site for my carrier (Sprint) and tried to register but was told I could not manage my device (or something along those lines) from my browser.

I recently bought this phone from someone on Craigslist. It functions perfectly well in every other way, but could that have something to do with this problem?

Thanks,

Billy

What OS version is on device? Versions prior to 4.6 or something like that do not have the capability to edit signature and filters from the device. So, if you are using 4.5, it's no go.

No clue on what the problem could be with the Sprint website and your browser.

I'm not sure where to find the OS version, but in Options-->About, it says the phone is v.5.0.0.459, if that's what you're looking for.

Go to the EMAIL SETTINGS icon on the device and LOG IN.

You will find the settings there.

Ditto. Not in the messages options. Look for the manage internet email icon. You may habe a settings folder, and it may be in there. Click it, the click the email address, etc.

Is this what you are looking for? From the FAQ:

How do I edit the "Sent from my BlackBerry®..." message? - BlackBerryFAQ

The only problem is that that FAQ page needs to be updated. Many users are reporting that they are getting the error reported by the OP when they go to the BIS page from a computer without having logged in to the Email Settings thick client on the device first.

I have not seen that on OS 6. I will look into it.
