Default 8520 Gemini without BB plan

Please Login to Remove!

I have just bought a 8520 Gemini and not yet subscribed to BB service.

1. I wanted to know if I can use BB messanger or any other messanger service like nimbuzz, fring etc. without subscribing to BB service? Just to clear things, I am in Saudi Arabia at present.

2. Can 3rd party applications be installed on BB handsets like googlemaps, gmail etc?

Thanks.

Nope. Blackberry messenger requires a blackberry data plan.

Google maps and gmail, along with facebook, twitter and many others also won't work without a blackberry data plan.

Maybe a read of the FAQ is in order?
