Data service ceases to function

When I'm in my room, the data service to my Curve 8530 sometimes ceases. The 1XEV remains in capital case, but emails are not received and anything that depends on data cannot use it. The only way to restore the data service is to turn off the data connection in Connection Manager, wait a minute, then turn it back on.

This didn't occur with my old 8330. Is the radio of the 8530 inferior to that of the 8330?
