I baught a blackberry for my birthday On decemeber 24th. It has been working fine untill now. I went to bed about 5(i was tired.) with atleast 80% battery. Woke up around 2 in the night with a few emails etc. Checked them then put me phone back on my desk. around 3:00 I heard the smg noise. It made 3 sms ringtones(loud settings). So i went over to check and my blackbery was turned off. that was odd. None of the buttons would turn it back on. So i tried charging my phone and it doesnt charge. It gives me an empty battery with a red cross running through it. What can I do? And why and how could this have happend without getting touched?

ps. I have hard reset it aswell.

Ok some how i fixed. For anyone else having same issue, Take battery out for around 30 mins. Put it back in and your phone will turn on on its own(I knew i had battery)

If this happens again im going to take it back. Close this or delete please sorry

Did you buy a new or used phone? We need more information to make any suggestions.

Does it charge properly when plugged in to either a wall charger or a PC? If yes, then it doesn't hurt to keep it on the charger. In fact, it can hurt the device if the battery runs down.

New Phone, baught last month for my birthday. Odd thing was it was fully charged and when it started working again i had the same battery around 80%+

It started working again through the day and just gone off again now. And I dont know how to explain sometimes it randomly just turns on. And if it does it charges etc. But if the battery doesnt work atm it just giv es me red X through empty battery icon (when i know it has battery) its odd
