i have this strange problem, i have BB Curve 8520 i used to run OS: 8520 5.0.0.1682/5.0.0.1036 (Multilanguage)

but then i noticed that there is a newer OS available which is OS: 8520 5.0.0.1728/5.0.0.1067 (All Languages)

downloaded the Multilanguage one and installed it, all good so far.
deleted the Vendor file, opened the Loader all seems fine.
next etc... then it doesn't show that this is a software update or that there is anything that can be updated.

i also noticed somethin, the diff between that OS i got and that new OS.

Package Version: 5.0.0.1682
•Applications: 5.0.0.1036
•Software Platform: 5.2.0.104

Package Version: 5.0.0.1728
•Applications: 5.0.0.1067
•Software Platform: 5.2.0.96

which is that the software platforum for the older OS version is higher than the new one, dunno if thats the reason for this problem or not.

maybe i am doing something wrong...any advices?

Did you uninstall the older OS from your PC before trying the upgrade?

there is no other OS on my PC, infact i got no BlackBerry Application on my PC.

i just downloaded the OS in the link installed it on my PC, deleted the Vendor file then double click on the loader.

the second package is the newer one right? so why is that the Software Platform for the 1st package is better than the software platform in the 2nd package, maybe thats why it doesn't update cos it recognize that my software platform is more updated than the one i am trying to update my phone with.

Try to download a little program called "BBSAK" (it is free) and there you can click "wipe phone". It will erase OS from your Blackberry and then you will have no need to update your system, just load new OS which you want using apploader. This is my idea, you can try.
