BB 8530 Battery lasts under 1 day
 

I have an 8530 Curve, and the battery just barely makes it through ONE day, and I only use the phone minimally. This is the second battery I have replaced. What could be causing this amount of drain? No YouTube usage, no Pandora, etc... Thoughts?

Sounds like it is working as it should. It is really tough to get more than about 8 to 12 hours from a smartphone these days. Battery life depends on how much you use it. Data intensive apps like Facebook and twitter running in the background eat a lot of battery.

Google maps was showing as running. I NEVER use Google Maps, so I closed that down. Now, I'll see if there's any difference. Thanks for helping, Dubdub.

One more question. Blackberry messaging... Can I delete that? I don't use that at all, either... I don't see any option to get rid of that one. I was able to remove Google Maps from the phone, which required a restart, but I don't see the same option for BlackBerry Messaging.

Just hide it. If you delete, it might come back.

Devnull, the only app I have installed is DropBox, which I use all the time. But I don't think DropBox is a battery killer. So far, today, I am still seeing 4 bars for the battery, so I think it looks like Google Maps was the problem.
