I have been having a problem calling out on my Blackberry 8520. Every time I call a number an icon with the phone symbol, two arrows going in opposite directions and a headphone symbol appear, the person that I am calling will answer but on my end of the phone it will "skip" and neither one of us can hear the other. The texting works fine. Ive tried taking out the battery and sim card, an update and a backup restore but it still does it. Any Ideas?

Sounds like the phone thinks you have a headset attached. Maybe use a can of compressed air to clean out the headphone jack. Perhaps even a dry q-tip. After that a trip to an AT&T store is in order.

tried the q-tip theory and it cleaned out some junk. works like a charm now! thanks for your help!
