I'd just like to hide my number sometimes when calling out. In the Call menu > Options, there are two items that seem to do the same thing "Restrict My Identity" vs. "Show "My Number"". What's the difference?

Restrict your identity is what you want. Do a test call to a friend or your home line first, to test it.

Show your number is either the reverse option or its a different setting that displays your number when the phone is "locked" - can't remember on the curve.

Show my number enabled displays your phone number on the phone screen. Disabled and it doesn't show. That's the way it is on my 9900 and the way I've always remembered it.
