Default 8707v Password disable - 10-17-2007, 04:30 PM

I have aquired a 8707v 3 g phone. Can anyone tell me how to disable the device password. I have changed it but cannot disable it. I can get into the security menu where it says password enabled but when I click on enable it brings up a menu that does not allow me to disable (there is no option to do that.) Any advice would be gratefully received.

David

David, most likely that password required is being forced by a IT Policy from the former user's corporate BES where it was used. if that is the case, you cannot change that, it will keep asking for the password, unless you have the IT Policy deleted or a blank IT policy pushed to the BB.

Look at Options > Security Options > General Settings > scroll to bottom and tell us what is listed under services?

There is nothing listed at the bottom under services. I followed your instructions.

Thanks,

David

And so how do you have an IT Policy deleted or a blank IT Policy pushed to the BB?

Welcome to BB Forums.

That is a VERY commonly asked question.

Our FAQ site (BlackBerry FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ) has a ton of information, including this page - Remove IT Policy - BlackBerryFAQ

Good luck and welcome.
