Default Deleting email accounts - 12-27-2007, 05:43 PM

I recently upgraded to a Curve and want to delete my email accounts off my old 8700. Any tips? I can't find anywhere to delete the accounts right on the device.

The account configuration is handled at your carriers BIS web page. You should simply have to change your device at the carrier's page and enter new PIN, etc. If you still want to delete, do it there as well. On the 8700, go to options and service books and delete the service books containing the email address in the service book name.

P.S. Are you selling the 8700? At blackberryfaq.com, in the article on buying a used BB, I believe there are tips for the seller as well.

Delete the messages themselves, or delete the folders? The OP asked about deleting the folders. If you are trying to delete the messages in the usual way and can't do it, then I'll defer to someone who knows the answer. It would help if you explain in better detail what you are trying to do and how you have been trying to do it.

Just scroll to the actual date and click on it. Then scroll to delete prior to delete all prior messages to that date. That works for SMS and email.

You should have just transferred the BIS account to the Curve and wiped the 8700 but the instructions above will take care of things. I'd still recommend a device wipe on the 8700.
