Welcome to the BBForums.

if you are using the Gmail application, it is not part of the message list and won't be. Also, the Gmail application does not alert you to new messages.

If you have your Gmail setup via your carrier BIS, and are not receving them, try this:

ThanksJSanders, I have tried to go through the steps in "my email stopped arriving" nothing seems to help. Called the provider they said all good at their end so must be a falt on my BB. Although i now dont have the gmail icon i still have a message list icon with my email address shown along bottom of screen its this message list thats not working. This list used to be updated whenever i had an email , so i must have done something to deactivate this . Skipperted

SkipperTed: Why don't you dump the GMail app and just set up your gmail as a regular email account using BIS? I do this and it integrates perfectly to the message list. You can set your profile to give a distinct ringtone when GMail arrives. GMail is compatible with POP and IMAP, so the use of a separate app is not necessary. 73
