Default Unlock Blackberry 8700c - 02-02-2008, 08:47 PM

I want to be able to use it with T-mobile. Can someone take me by a step by step process and tell me how to do it? Thanks. (prefereably free )

How long have you had it? Are you under contract?
My BB was with Cingular. I called them after I was given an Ipaq at work that was subscribed to Cingular. I told them that I wanted to unlock the BB so that I could sell it. Within a couple of days, they emailed me the code.

one way i usually get phones unlocked without any questions asked is to call and tell them i am traveling abroad for work in a few weeks and will need to use some foreign SIM cards in the locations i will be going. then i play dumb a little and say i heard i had to unlock my phone so i could use it with the cards, blah blah. usually they have no problem with it then and will email the unlock code in a couple days.

i find they usually dont make a big fuss if you say its for work, and if they ask i just mumble something about govt contracting.

i just did this again the other day with my cingular razor. now i can ETF that contract and sell the phone or give to a buddy and they can use on whatever network.

Does this method work with other carriers, or is it just cingular (att) that will give out unlock codes like that?

I have gotten this done with both cingular and tmo before this way several times no problems. those are the only ones i have tried as often times i am not lying about using foreign SIM cards. but the reps seem to be fairly responsive to this type of request. i had a buddy one time try to get his unlocked he didnt have a reason so they didnt want to do it...

I'm not a Cingular customer, so I'm afraid that their just going to ask for my cingular phone number first, and not give me the unlock code.
