Default Outgoing mail question... - 02-10-2008, 10:47 PM

How do I turn off the feature that makes it so every time I send an email from my laptop or blackberry, I receive a copy of that sent message as a new message on my phone...

Thanks in advance

Lightbulb Altering E-Mail Account Characteristics - 02-10-2008, 11:53 PM

You need to determine if you are using BES or BIS. BES is the enterprise e-mail handler. This means that you are on a corporate account. If this is the case, contact your IT administrator. If you are an individual and not using a corporate connected BB, then you would be using BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) as your mail handler. You need to goto the following website:

https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw

This is the specific page for Verizon customers. If yo have set up an account, you just go and cancel the duplicate copy. If you have not set up an account, do so and when you do, make sure that you do not select the "send a copy" option. This is the only way to correct he problem you are having. 73

Just to add to the above info, if you are on the personal BIS account, log into your carrier's BIS site and then edit each email account you have set up to delete "AUTO BCC".

If you are on BES with your company, do as hurdes says and talk to the the BB Admin.

Odds are that the OP is using gmail and it's the standard gmail question...

Depending on how you deal with gmail, the answer may still be valid. I use the BB e-mail client to process my gmail accounts and it works fine. It is faster and easier to use than the Google gmail client and does not waste precious memory space.

If you're on BIS, create a FROM=(your email address) filter to catch your sending email and choose option "Do not forward to handheld".
