Default Quick activation question - 02-11-2008, 08:12 AM

Hello all -

My second blackberry (my first was a Nextel 7520) is on the way. I bought an 8703e to use with my Verizon account until VZW finally gets on the ball with the curve.

My question: It's been a while since I set up a BB... but where do I get my Blackberry Web Client account? Does the carrier give me a url where I can go and set that up?

Also, now that gmail offers IMAP, does that change anything? Do you still just forward you gmail to the BWC?

Thanks and sorry for the newb questions... I didn's see anything like this when I searched.

Andy

BWC no longer exists!

On the carrier BIS site you will create a login and password to manage the email accts for your BB.

Each carrier has a BIS login page. You would go there to setup acct or you can do it directly from the device.

Don't forget to push service books. There is a link on the left column of the Verizon BIS page to take you to service books. Follow it, and then click on send service books.

It is also a good idea to go on the BB phone and dial *228 + opt 1. This is very important. All Verizon users should run *228 + Opt 2 at least once a month (according to Verizon) It takes about a minute to do this and seems to help keep things running smoothly .. 73
