Default Delivery Confirmations - 02-12-2008, 03:49 PM

Hi,

New to the formum and glad I found it. I recently updated my 8703e to ver 4.2 and now, with no consistency, I get the following message on my office computer "Your message was delivered to the recipient."

When the BB is turned off this doesn't happen so clearly the problem came as a result of the upgrade to 4.2. All delivery and receipt options are turned to "off".

Any ideas? It's annoying.

Thanks

If your are not on a corporate network, you need to go to the Verizon/BB web page and change your settings. Go to:

https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw

Log in. Create an account if you have to. You will then be able to disable the receipt confirmation.

If you are on a corporate network, see your IT administrator . 73

go into your messages > menu > options > email options > go to each email that is listed and make sure delivery and read confirmation are both off

Neither of the two offered suggestions work. When I send an email from the 8703 I continue to get the following message on my home computer:

Your message was delivered to the recipient.

Is this a function of upgrading to 4.2? I didn't have this problem with 4.1.

Thanks

Have you tried setting a filter on your home computer to dump the offending e-mails to the trash bin? Most e-mail clients will let oyu do this. Either or both of the offered suggestions should have fixed the problem. Personally, I find the confirmation very useful, but that is a personal taste.

That's a superb idea. But it will mean the home machine rejects all inbound emails from the Blackberry and I store all of my emails sent on the road on the main machine.

This never happened with ver 4.1 - only when I went to 4.2. If I could find 4.1 again I'd go back. Any idea where I might be able to find it? Verizon only offers 4.2 now.
